Dermatologic Surgery in Vienna

Surgery can be performed under topical (local) or general anaesthesia. For the latter, certain preparation is needed which will be explained at the initial visit. Small lesions such as moles under the size of 5mm can be also removed superficially as well (e.g. shave biopsy). In this case, the wound heals like a scrape and does not need to be stitched.

removal of moles
excision or histological confirmation of cancerous lesions or other skin diseases
treatment of ingrown nails
excision of cysts, abscesses etc.
seborrhoic warts („age spots“), condylomas and mollusca

Please note

cosmetic appearance after surgery depends very much on the healing process after surgery
the wound should be kept dry, physical stress and UV (e.g. sun) should be avoided
besides scaring, the color (pigmentation) of the surrounding tissue might change
therefore the seasons before and after summer, typically between October and April is recommended
